national park service new mobile app

The National Park Service recently introduced a new, unified app that provides information on all of the United States’ national parks in one place. Up until now, people had to use separate apps for each individual park, so this new unified version makes it much more convenient to explore all that our national parks have to offer.

The app is still in its beta version, so you can expect to see lots of optimizations in the coming months, but its current iteration offers plenty of great features to start with. You can search the app for accessibility information, hiking suggestions, and maps of each park. You can also use the app to find audio tours, make lodging reservations, and determine restaurant hours.

Free to use on Android and Apple, the app also makes it a cinch to search for parks and their popular destinations by state. And when you find a park that you’re interested in, you can pin it to the app’s homepage, easily creating a list of your must-visit destinations.

Plus, if you're planning an upcoming trip to a park and you don't think you'll have adequate cell service while there, you can download park data from the app, like maps and audio tours, that you can then use offline.

Other fun features of the app include detailed images of every park passport stamp and where to find them, as well as the ability to send a custom postcard to your loved ones with a park stamp in the corner.

Basically, this app is a must-have for anyone who's planning a trip to any of the country's beautiful national parks, and you can easily download it here for an Apple device and here for an Android device.
