Denizen 3D printed smartpod

Design firm Denizen is helping remote workers make the most of the work-from-home trend by offering 3D-printed pods that can transform virtually any locale into a fully equipped office space.

The remote work trend has been picking up steam for several years now, but the pandemic has taken it to new heights, with companies finally realizing that many employees don’t need to be in the office to be productive.

Denizen is helping professionals maximize this trend by making it easy to work in one of the most peaceful and inspiring environments around: Nature.

The firm designed prefab, 3D-printed “smart pods” that can be constructed virtually anywhere imaginable. “Connected, furnished, and sustainable, we’ve 3D-printed it from the ground up for the perfect day of work,” the company said.

The small but mighty pods have everything you need for a comfortable and connected work environment, including plenty of outlets, concealed ports, cable management, and fully integrated storage.

They also feature huge, floor-to-ceiling windows, immersing inhabitants in the beauty of nature from within the protection of the pod. But if you want privacy, then you can simply adjust the variable opacity privacy film that's installed on all of the windows.

In addition to office management essentials, the pods feature heating and cooling, making them a great option no matter the season. Plus, they come with a mini fridge, perfect for satisfying afternoon cravings, and a rear lounge with overhead lighting that you can use for a mid-day R&R session.

And because no work-from-home environment is complete without optimizations for video chat, the pods feature a 4K 27” adjustable monitor, a 4K webcam, and a whiteboard to make easy work of brainstorming across regions and timezones.

The pods are also as sustainable as they are practical, made from sustainably-sourced solid wood desks and other furniture, with recycled insulation and recyclable metal exterior cladding.

Currently, the company offers subscriptions to the pods for employers and employees, as well as the option to purchase one for your own personal use. You can learn more about the pods and how to get one of your own here
